Bedside Cot Reviews

A bedside crib, sometimes referred to as a bassinet for babies, is placed near your bed so that you can safely attend to your infant during night feeds and nappy-changings without having to leave bed. These cribs are fantastic to help develop independence for your child as they grow more comfortable in their own sleeping space.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to sleep with their infant while making sure they're safe. Its smooth gliding motion can help calm your baby and its unique features allow you to keep an eye on your child without having to leave bed.

The sliding side panel of the crib can be raised and lowered by a simple press of a button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a baby in the night. It comes with 11 height adjustments to accommodate almost any mattress size. It also has adjustable folding feet that ensure it is at the right level.

In terms of safety the cot is cushioned and fitted with mesh sides to provide more ventilation, and its mattress is made from high-density foam to provide extra protection.  bedside travel cot 's also able to be cleaned so that you can keep it clean, and it is fitted with a sheet that's suitable for use with the cot.

The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for bed, is compatible with all beds including divans. This is because of the clips and straps that connect it. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib when it's not connected to your bed and it's packed with amazing features that are specifically designed with the bonding between parents and babies in mind.

One thing to bear in mind is that while this crib is perfect for babies, it won't last long after your little one turns six months old, so you'll have to purchase larger cots. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a excellent purchase and she particularly liked its sleek design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna felt was an affordable cost for a cot that has these advanced features. She also liked how it appeared in the bedroom and believed that its grey colour is a good fit for modern homes. However, she did point that it's not a great idea to rock a smaller baby as it could set the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning bedside crib designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It features a drop-side rail that is able to be easily lowered to feed your child at night without disturbing them or forcing them out of the bed. This is ideal for breastfeeding mothers! It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during naps and when traveling.

We love the fact that it's made of soft materials that have mesh sides that breathe, which aids in airflow and ease of use. It's available in charcoal and oak and has a variety of melange fabric options that are compatible with all decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when attached to her bed with the legs securely clicking into place and the zips secure to ensure baby safety. It took Anna around 10 minutes to put it together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions, a video and a customer support number if you encounter any issues.

The CoZee crib is equipped with all the features you would think of in a crib for your bedside, such as the ability to attach it to your existing bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also comes with six height settings. Additionally it has an incline feature that can be used to help infants suffering from reflux or congestion. It can also be washed by a machine - a must for all the spills, vomit, and snot that can be found in a newborn baby!

If you want to keep your baby close during the first six months as they're learning to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great option as it can also be used as a stand-alone cot, changing table or toddler bed. It can be turned into a sofa bed by the addition of an extension pack. And while it will not feed your baby or magically make them sleep it will gently rock them until they go off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of the more expensive alternatives. It does have many great features. It's designed to function as a side sleeper or a standalone crib and is suitable for babies up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel thanks to a brand new mechanism. It's also more flexible than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.

Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and down with one click of a switch. This was a huge benefit during feeding times at night as it meant that they could easily reach inside and pick up their baby without disturbing them.

The side panel can be lowered by itself however it isn't advised as it increases the chance of your baby falling out of the cot. The patented safety locking system makes sure that the side panel will only remain in place if it's connected correctly to the parent's mattress. This feature can be very beneficial to have peace of mind when you are breastfeeding and need frequent nighttime feeds.

Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers. It also has a tilting function to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking feature to bring them back to sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and provides great ventilation due to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects even with the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than other side-sleepers, however it's very portable and can be moved from room to room with ease. It's also able to fold into a travel bag which is a great option for those who want to transport it. The only downside our test subjects found was that the side panel didn't move as much as the other models, making it slightly harder to see your baby from your own bed.

The Shnuggle Air

If you're in search of a crib for your bed that will expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth considering. It's a sleeper crib that attaches securely to your bed and can be transformed into a chic cot when your baby is old enough. Perfect for nighttime feedings and enhancing the bond you have with your newborn.

The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, not like other cribs. Its dual-view mesh side panels and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable maximise airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope can help ease reflux and colic. The zip-down side allows you to feed your baby or comfort them at night.

The kit for converting cots is also well-designed with clear instructions. It comes with everything you need. It took us an hour to construct and was relatively easy to put together. The only downside was the lack of captions in writing on a few of the images, which made it difficult to comprehend certain steps. Overall, it was a simple procedure and the quality of the materials used was excellent.

In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, since it allows them to comfortably reach out to their baby to feed and comfort them without having to get up from their own bed. It's ideal for parents who don't want to deal with the hassle of putting their baby in a traditional cot or even getting them out of it.

During our testing we noticed the smooth motion of this next-to-me crib to be especially useful in helping babies fall asleep after feedings at night and midday. The drop-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe babies during the night. This was a big selling point for our exhausted moms who took part in our tests. While it doesn't rock or come with extra features like a sound system the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality make it a great addition to our top crib reviews for bed.
